Located at the Zootalia restaurant within the grounds of the Berlin Zoo, this year’s Wirtschaftssommer, held on Friday, 5 September once again proved to be a highlight on the summer calendar of international business associations.

As dusk settled over the zoo, around 150 guests enjoyed a festive evening with live music from a solo saxophonist and a DJ, both occasionally accompanied by the distant roar of one of the zoo’s residents.

The evening brought together an international audience, with representatives from business councils across the UK, Italy, Hungary, Australia, various trade associations, as well as special guests including the Ambassador of Mongolia.

In his introductory remarks, the German Australian Business Council Co-Chair, Robert Harrison underlined the special choice of venue, noting that the Berlin Zoo is the only place in the city where one can experience “Australia live”, thanks to its enclosure of red kangaroos and wallabies.

Throughout the evening, guests took the opportunity to network, strengthen business ties, and enjoy the open-air setting of the Zootalia terrace.
