German-Australian Business Relations – AHK Briefing, Frankfurt, May 2025

On May 7, 2025, the German Australian Business Council hosted an exclusive evening with Marko Walde, Executive Director of AHK Australia, in Frankfurt am Main. The event took place at the mainBuilding on Taunusanlage in Frankfurt am Main and offered an in-depth look into current economic developments in Australia, as well as opportunities for German businesses.

Following an informal reception, Mr Walde began his presentation. He spoke about Australia’s macroeconomic situation, strategic growth markets, and the impact of geopolitical tensions on German-Australian relations. Particularly engaging was his outlook on potential developments following the recent elections in both countries.

The subsequent Q&A session featured numerous well-informed questions, which Mr Walde answered in detail.

Afterwards, guests had the opportunity to network in a relaxed atmosphere over finger food and selected Australian wines.

Many conversations continued well beyond the official end of the event — a clear sign of the strong interest and meaningful exchange among participants.
